Carole Peterson

Author

Carole Peterson, PhD, is a Professor of Psychology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a named 'University Research Professor' - Memorial University's highest recognition of research excellence. Carol has researched children's personal narratives, or autobiographical stories about personal experience. In addition, Dr. Peterson investigates children's eyewitness memory for stressful experiences, specifically injuries serious enough to require hospital emergency room treatment. She and her collaborators have documented surprisingly good memory for such salient and distressing events in quite young children, and this research has important implications for the reliability of children's testimony in court. Dr. Peterson is internationally known for her research and has published extensively in all of these areas.
