Sarah Critten, PhD is a Research Fellow specializing in Developmental Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK. Her recently completed PhD research derived from her first published article (co-authored with Karen Pine and Dorothy Steffler) in the Journal of Educational Psychology and examined processes involved in learning to spell and read. Sarah is a member of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading and has recently co-authored a chapter on spelling development for a book focusing on contemporary issues in literacy research.
