Patricia Cleave


Dr. Patricia L. Cleave is an associate professor in the School of Human Communication Disorders at Dalhousie University. She teaches courses on the nature of speech and language impairments in preschool and school-aged children, and assessment and intervention with these children. Her recent research has involved evaluations of intervention programs to develop language and literacy skills in children with Down syndrome and in children with specific (primary) language impairments. Other areas of work include word learning in typically developing children and children with specific language impairment and Down syndrome, and bilingual language development in children with Down syndrome.
